What to Expect

Before the Appointment

We will discuss your pet’s condition, your concerns, and what to expect during the visit. We can also review aftercare arrangements in advance.

During the Appointment

Sedation is included with every euthanasia appointment to help your pet become relaxed and comfortable. Once your pet is peacefully resting, the final medication is administered.

After the Appointment

Your family may spend time saying goodbye. You may choose to care for transportation yourself or make arrangements for us to transport your pet for private cremation through J.T. Morriss.

In-Home Euthanasia: $300

Sedation and the $70 housecall trip fee within our service area are included.

Appointments are generally scheduled on Tuesdays and Fridays when our veterinary assistant is available. Evening and weekend appointments are not routinely offered.

Aftercare Options

J.T. Morriss – Petersburg

Families may transport their pet directly to J.T. Morriss.

Transportation by our team is available for private cremation for an additional charge.

J.T. Morriss Information

Agape Pet Services – Sandston

Families may transport their pet directly to Agape, which offers individual and communal cremation.

At Home Veterinary Care does not provide transportation to Agape.
